A. By default, Server 2008 uses the classic folder view, which doesn't have the options for the Details or Preview panes. To enable the ability to use the Details and Preview panes, you need to switch to a different mode. To do so, follow these steps:
1. Start Explorer.
2. Press the Alt button.
3. Select Folder Options from the Tools menu.
4. Select the General tab.
5. Under Tasks, select "Show preview and filters" instead of "Use Windows classic folders."
6. Click OK.

You will now be able to select Layout from the Organize menu and enable Details and Preview.
